The Anemone apennina belongs to the Crowfoot Family and to the genus of Anemones. It grows in Italy, Sicily, Corsica, Albania and in the countries of former Yugoslavia. As habitat it prefers the open woodland. The herbaceous plant reaches a height of five to thirty centimeters. It shows its pale blue flowers from March to May.
