Valzeina
Valzeina is a former municipality in the district of Prättigau/Davos in the Swiss canton of Graubünden. On 1 January 2011 Fanas and Valzeina were merged with the municipality of Grüsch. Valzeina is first mentioned in 1367 as Valtzennas.
Valzeina has an area, as of 2006, of 11.4 km2. Of this area, 40.3% are used for agricultural purposes, while 53.2% are forested. Of the rest of the land, 2.5% are settled (buildings or roads) and the remainder (3.9%) are non-productive (rivers, glaciers or mountains).
The municipality is located in the Seewis sub-district of the Prättigau/Davos district. It consists of scattered settlements in Vorder-Valzeina, Hinter-Valzeina and Sigg (on the right side of the valley). The municipalities of Grüsch and Valzeina are considering a merger on 1 January 2010 into a new municipality that will be known as Grüsch.
